How do I place attachments with Vivid Aligners?

You will receive a template tray with your aligners if there are attachments on the case.

  1. When placing attachments, they will often need more cure time than normal bonding. This is because you are curing over plastic, which can reduce adhesion to the tooth if not cured long enough.
  2. FlowTain™ is the preferred bonding agent. A more viscous bonding agent will work best. We cannot guarantee another will work. If the attachment has not adhered to the tooth, it may take another attempt.
  3. The cure light strength level may determine how well your bonding procedure works. A weak light setting may affect your outcome. Look to the FlowTain™ guidelines to see what the proper strength is for you.
  4. After the acid etch, seal the teeth for proper bonding of the attachments.
  5. Proper adhesion of attachments relies on knowing what is “too little” and “too much” material. Filling your attachment well with too little bonding material will leave you with a paper-thin margin between your attachment and your tooth, potentially resulting in a bonding failure. Too much bonding material and you will have a mess on your hands that may cause the aligners to distort and fit incorrectly.
  6. Be sure to check your light cure so that extra glue is not stuck at the tip. If this is not cleaned properly and regularly, this can affect the outcome of your bonding procedure.
