Is IPR necessary for every Vivid Aligner case?

No. IPR is recommended based on each patient's needs, requirements, and treatment goals. Cases with advanced or moderate crowding will typically need some IPR, others may not. Vivid focuses on being conservative with the existing tooth structure that a patient has: our goal is never to perform "too much" IPR. You can expect IPR to range from .2mm to .5mm. Vivid looks at the mouth as a whole and not just one segment of the mouth, therefore, if it is possible to expand the arch without performing any IPR, Vivid will opt to move in that direction to preserve more tooth structure.

For clinicians with little to no experience in IPR, we recommend these tools for IPR use.
